Lewis, Lucy – Jar with Fineline Interlocking Stars (1960s)
4.25"w x 3.75"h
$ 1,100.00
This is an intricate fine-line jar by Lucy Lewis. She was one of the great Matriarch potters of the past century. This jar is coil-built, thin-walled, and painted using bee-weed, a plant used to create the black. The jar has very thinly painted interlocking stars. Eight-sided stars are interlocking with four-sided stars. The jar is signed on the bottom, “Lucy M. Lewis”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. Definitely a classic and a piece of history!
