Greg Lonewolf is the son of Joseph Lonewolf and is known for his intricately incised miniatures.  This seedpot is one of his few black fired pieces.  The piece is entitled, “Striped Skunk”.  There is a realistic skunk on the front.  The back has a large Mimbres style skunk along with three baby skunks.  One of the baby skunks is chasing an inchworm! There are stars and comets in the sky!  It is really a charming piece and one of my favorites.  The back of the piece has a realistic eagle in flight along with a fish and clouds.  All the various colors are additional clay slips. which are added after the black firing.  It is signed on the bottom, “Gregory Lonewolf”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
