This is a large and personally important seedbpot by Rosemary Lonewolf. It is a large, round seedpot that is fully polished and designed. The piece is part of a series about the birth of her son, Adam Speckled Rock. The first was “The Birth of Adam”. This one is the next in the series, “The Mother of Adam”. Here she is nursing Adam, but also depicted a Mother Earth, nursing the continuity of the Pueblo,, with the traditional designs from her body. Below the shoulder are a large avanyu, flute player, and other geometric patterns. The area surrounding the designs are etched with small circles and slipped white. The piece is highlighted with green, blue, white, and red clay slips. There is an eternal nature to this piece, the continuation of life, and the importance of women in Pueblo life and culture. It is a strong and powerful piece by Rosemary. The designs are highlighted with blue, green, and white clay slips. The seedpot is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed on the bottom, “Apple Blossom”. Definitely an important piece in Rosemary’s pottery career!

Rosemary "Apple Blossom" Lonewolf is a daughter of Joseph Lonewolf and learned to create similar highly polished and delicately etched pottery. Rosemary has been featured in numerous books, including "Beyond Traditions" and has received numerous awards for her intricate pottery and use of realism in her designs.
