WOW!  This is an exceptional bowl by Rebecca Lucario.  She is known for her delicate, finely painted pottery.  This bowl is thin-walled.  Rebecca is known for her thin lines, and this bowl reflects the precision of her artistry. There are three rows of interlocking stars. It is perfect how they inter-connect.  The bowl is painted with bee-weed (black).   The piece is signed on the bottom, “R Lucario”.

This is a very intricately painted wide seedpot by Rebecca Lucario.  She is known for her delicate and very finely painted pottery.  This seedpot is fully painted on the top with bee-weed (black) and colorful clay slips.  There are two Mimbres Lizards.  There is a cloud design with her VERY thin lines.  The edge of the seedpot has a feather pattern.   The piece is signed on the bottom, “R Lucario”.

Rebecca Lucario

Rebecca Lucario is undoubtedly one of the great painters from Acoma Pueblo. She is known for her thin-walled pottery and the intricate designs painted on the surface. She is the granddaughter of Dolores Sanchez and sister of Marilyn Ray, Judy Lewis, and Carolyn Concho. She learned to make pottery from her grandmother Dolores and used traditional designs and Mimbres iconography in her work. Rebecca has won numerous awards for her pottery and featured in multiple books and on the cover of the "Changing Hands" book for the museum exhibition.
