Rebecca Lucario is known for her delicate and intricately painted pottery.  This plate is very intricately painted and has a fascinating design. The center has a fine-line star pattern.  Each of the next five rows out from the center are medallions with diamond-shaped patterns in the center.  They are star, rain, and cloud patterns.  When the design gets to the outer rim, she has four areas where it spirals out to the rim.  Spectacular!  The spiraling sections have thin lines.  They are separated by small star patterns. There is an amazing amount of design for the size! The piece is painted with clay slips for the red and the black is bee-weed.  Note the incredible precision of the painting with a strong sense of visually movement.  It is signed on the back, “R. Lucario”.
