Medina, Marcellus – Jar with Buffalo Dancer and Buffalo Maiden (2001)
$ 500.00
Marcellus Medina is known for his contemporary painted pottery. The jar is made by his wife, Elizabeth Medina. Marcellus has painted on the surface with acrylic. The jar is intricately painted with two dancers. There is a Buffalo Dancer, and the Buffalo Maiden. The detail in each figure from the position of the legs to the realism of the feather feathers is amazing. Check out the precision of the painting of the turquoise necklace on the Buffalo Maiden! Separating each figure is a classic Zia feather and cloud design. The jar is signed on the bottom, “M. Medina”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
