Rochelle Jewel Medlock (b. 2005) is the daughter of noted potter Autumn Borts-Medlock. The piece is coil-built from native clay, carved, polished, and traditionally fired. The piece is entitled, “Snowflake”. The bowl is carved with a complex snowflake on one side. The clay area around it is mottled with a bit of texture. The remainder is carved with swirling clouds. The clouds are all slipped with mica. There are additional dots of white on the rim. It is a beautiful piece with a modern style of design and tight carving. It is signed, “Rochelle Jewel”. It is exciting to see her continue a legacy of clay!
