$ 1,100.00
This is a classic wedding vase is by Helen “Featherwoman” Naha. It is her classic shape with the wide, round shoulder and elongated spouts. The design has two birds on each side. The tails of one of the birds go up the spout. The designs are painted with bee-weed (black) and three colors of clay slips. It was only in the late 1980s that she began to use additional colors of clay on her pottery. The white is a kaolin clay which is first applied to the jar and then stone polished. The wedding vase is signed on the bottom with a feather, which was Helen’s hallmark. The vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
