Naha, Nona – Bowl with Star Design (1990s)

7"w x 2"h

$ 650.00

Nona Naha was a Tewa-Hopi of the Corn Clan who began making pottery in 1988. She was the daughter of Sylvan and Edith Nash and the wife of Terry Naha. She learned to make pottery from Helen Naha and her daughters Sylvia and Rainy Naha.  This bowl is a larger piece of her pottery.  It is very thin-walled in her signature style  It almost feels as if it is made of paper! The piece is fully polished and the top is painted with an eternity band around the edge. There is star on the top outlined in red clay.  There are smaller triangles connecting the design.  The bowl was traditionally fired.  It is signed on the bottom, “Nona Naha”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
