Naranjo, Forest – Brown Seedpot with 3 Mimbres Figures (1987)

Forrest Naranjo’s pottery is coil-built, stone polished, and traditionally fired brown and then etched with designs.  This jar has a round shape and an asymmetric rim.  The entire surface is fully polished. There is a feather pattern etched around the neck and six turtle etched around the shoulder.  Each turtle has a different design on the back.  It is a striking piece and highly detailed.  It was fired a deep brown coloration.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “Forrest Naranjo”.
