Madeline Naranjo creates beautifully carved and polished pottery.  Each piece is pinch-built, carved, stone polished, and traditionally fired.  This jar is a bit larger than many of her pieces. The jar is carved with a parrot on each side.  Separating them are large sunrise designs.  Each sun has an etched face.  The jar is a combination of polished and matte areas.  Her matte areas are sanded and perfectly smooth so there are no indentations or areas where the matte might make a shadow.  Her designs are always innovative and beautifully executed.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “Madeline Naranjo”.

Madeline Naranjo is a granddaughter of Madeline Naranjo. She has known for her deeply carved pottery, which is thin-walled and contrasts matte and polished areas to accentuate the designs.  Each piece is a coil or pinch-built, carved, and stone polished.  They are traditionally fired outdoors to create the black coloration.
