Naranjo, Robert T. – Red Bowl with Carved Avanyu and Lapis (1996)

Robert T. Naranjo (b. 1958) is son-in-law of Elizabeth Naranjo.  He is married to Betty Naranjo and the father of Adrian Naranjo and Ernestine Naranjo.  Between 1990 and 1998 he won seven awards at Santa Fe Indian Market.  This seedpot is coil-built, carved, stone polished, painted, and traditionally fired black.  There are carved feathers on the edge and a painted avanyu on the top. The bottom has painted yucca designs. After the firing, turquoise and coral insets were added. The seedpot is signed on the bottom, “Robert Naranjo”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
