8"w x 6"h

$ 900.00

This is a classic jar by Eunice “Fawn” Navasie.  She was a daughter-in-law of Paqua Naha and a sister-in-law of Joy “Frogwoman” Navasie.  This jar is coil-built, slipped and polished white, and painted with bee-weed and red clay.  This jar has a round shoulder and short neck.  There are swirling Hopi birds encircling the piece in three panels.  The birds are painted with bee-weed and an orange-red clay slip.  The color of the red indicates this pieces is from the late 1960s.   The jar was traditionally fired and note the “meringue” colored blushes right on the neck!   The jar is signed on the bottom, “Fawn” inside her fawn hallmark.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
