Marianne Navasie was a daughter of Joy “Frog Woman” Navasie and a granddaughter of Paqua Naha. This tall jar has a cylindrical shape. It is polished on the inside and outside. The jar is painted with bee-weed and red clay slip. The jar has a series of stylized bird and bird wing designs in each of the two panels. It is a fluid and interesting design and it was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the rim. It is signed on the bottom with a frog hallmark and an M. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, restoration or repair.

It is a fluid and interesting design and it was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the rim. It is signed on the bottom with a frog hallmark and an M and a tadpole. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. There is a small slip chip in the white near the base and I’ve priced it accordingly.

Marianne Navasie was a daughter of Joy "Frogwoman" Navasie and a granddaughter of Paqua Naha. She was a sister of Loretta Navasie, Grace Lomahquahu, Maynard Navasie (1945-99), Leona Navasie and Natelle Navasie. She was married to Harrison Jim and worked with him on his pottery. She was the mother of Pam Navasie, Donna Robertson, Gail Navasie and Harrison Jim, Jr. . She signed her pottery with a frog and tadpole hallmark.
