$ 750.00

Maynard Navasie (1945-2003) was a son of noted potter Joy “Frogwoman” Navasie.  He learned to make pottery from his mother.  Veronica (b. 1945) is a daughter of Laura Prestson.  They worked together on much of their pottery.  This jar is coil-built and painted with bee-weed (black) and a deep red clay slip. The jar has a cylindrical shape.  It is very tightly painted with flowing Sikyatki style birds.  Each of the four sections is different. The jar is signed on the bottom with a Frog hallmark and his initials, “M.N & V.N.”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
