Patricio, Kylie – “Flower Olla” Water Jar (2017)

Kylie Patricio (b. 1999) is a daughter of noted potter Robert Patricio.  This jar is coil-built and thin-walled. It has a classic Acoma water jar shape and a high shoulder and short neck.  The jar is painted with bee-weed and clay slips.  The piece was made when she was 16 years old in 2017.  The jar has plant and rain cloud patterns across the surface.  The bottom is painted red.  The jar is a creative use of form and design.  The jar is signed, “K. Patricio”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It has a second place ribbon from the 2017 Santa Fe Indian Market for Youth Division.
