7"w x 5.25"h

$ 900.00

Teresita Romero was the grandmother or noted potter Diego Romero and painter Mateo Romero.  Throughout her career she was known for her large vessels and use of traditional iconography in her work.  This jar is painted with bee-weed for the black.  There is a lizard on each side in relief.  Above them are cloud and separating them are plant designs.  It is a very creative piece and tightly painted.  The jar was traditionally fired to create the coloration on the surface.  It is signed on the bottom, “Teresita Romero”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
