Russell Sanchez continues to be one of the true innovators in Pueblo pottery.  Each piece is coil-built, stone-polished, and traditionally fired.  This is a tall square lidded jar.  The jar is polished red on two sides and tan on the short sides.  On the red sides, there is a Pueblo bird etched into the clay. The tan sides have triangular prayer feathers.  There are Twelve high grade Kingman stones set into the jar.  The lid has a red polished bear with two inset pieces of turquoise. The top of the lid is polished tan.  It is a colorful and creative piece with classic imagery and exceptional stones!   All the stones are inset after firing.  The bowl is elegant in shape and design with a modern strength.  It is signed, “Russell”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
