Dory Sandia (b. 1968) is a son of Johnny Sandia and Sharon Sarracino. He is the brother of Renee Sandia, Adrian Sandia, and Ben Sandia. He learned to make pottery from his mother. Each piece is made from native clay and coil-built. This bowl has a kiva step opening carved into the clay on the top. The sides have painted corn plants with pollen. Surrounding them is a rainbow of rain and cloud designs. It is signed, “Dory Sandia”. The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
