Soler, Lucho – Blue Jar with Stylized Birds
$ 1,200.00
Lucho Soler (Peruvian), has been a professor at the famous Institute of American Indian Art School in Santa Fe, NM. In his native Peru, he has taught countless workshops and given classes to young aspiring artists, helping them learn about their cultural heritage and letting them find expression in creating something beautiful. Each piece is coil-built, stone-polished, and the colors are all from clya and minerals mixed as slips. This jar is coil-built and polished with a blue clay slip around the body of the piece. The neck is the natural color of the clay. The jar was fired, and then the series of pre-Columbian-style birds was etched around the shoulder of the jar. It is signed on the bottom.
