Lucho Soler (Peruvian), has been a professor at the famous Institute of American Indian Art School in Santa Fe, NM. In his native Peru, he has taught countless workshops and given classes to young aspiring artists, helping them learn about their cultural heritage and letting them find expression in creating something beautiful.  Each piece is coil-built, stone-polished, and the colors are all from clay and minerals mixed as slips.  This jar is coil-built and polished and fired black.  There are some great color variations on the surface.  The parrots are etched into the clay and highlighted with platinum luster that is fired into the clay.  It is signed on the bottom.
