Tafoya, Doug (Cain) – Large Red Water Jar (1980s)

7.5"w x 8.5"h

$ 400.00

Doug Tafoya (Cain) (1942-2026) was a son of noted potter Mary Cain and grandson of Christina Naranjo.  He is a brother of Tina Diaz, Linda Cain, Joy Cain, and Billy Cain.  This large water jar is coil-built and fully polished.  I was fired a glassy red coloration.  The jar is signed, “Doug Tafoya”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  Sadly, Doug passed away in September, 2026, but his work remains a striking reflection of the Cain family style.
