Tahbo, Dianna – Jar with Eight Rainclouds (2002)

5.5"w x 3.5"h

$ 850.00

Dianna Tahbo was known for her tightly painted pottery and especially her beautiful miniatures.  This piece is from 1996 and it is an exceptional work in clay.  Dianna learned to make pottery from her brother, Mark Tahbo.  This jar has a round shape and sloping top.  It is fully polished and painted with bee-weed and a red clay slip.  There are four pairs of clouds that extend to the rim.  Extending downward is the rain and clouds with finely painted lines.  It is detail and creative design.  The jar was traditionally fired so there are blushes on the surface.  It is signed on the bottom, “Dianna Tahbo”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
