Teller, Stella – Storyteller with Two Children (2000)

Stella Teller (b. 1929) is one of the great names in contemporary Isleta Pueblo pottery. This is one of her classic storyteller figures.  It is the blue-gray coloration for which she is most famous.  This piece is a Navajo woman holding two children and a lamb. The dress, children, and lamb are all polished white. The piece is highlighted with gray clay, along with a tan coloration.  She is wearing a turquoise hei-shi necklace.  The figure is signed on the bottom, “Stella Teller”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
