This is an unusual open bowl by Robert Tenorio. The bowl is painted with wild spinach (black) and red clay. The outside of the bowl is plain with a red micaceous slip. The interior has a white clay slip with four “antelope men” as the design. It’s interesting to see a more Mimbres inspired design in one of his bowls. There is a spirit line on the outside that extends into the interior design. The bowl was traditionally fired. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Robert Tenorio, Kewa”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

This is a fully painted open bowl by Robert Tenorio. The bowl is painted with wild spinach (black). The outside of the bowl has an interlocking star design. There is a spirit line on the outside that extends into the interior design. In the center of the bowl is a large bird. The bird encompasses most of the interior space. It has flowing wings and curling feathers. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Robert Tenorio, Kewa”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
