Tso, Jim- Long Neck Jar with Raised Cloud Design (1990s)
$ 200.00
Jim Tso (d. 2022) was a son of Faye Tso and was an uncle of Jared Tso. He learned to make pottery from his mother. This jar is made from traditional clay, and it is coil-built. It has a low shoulder and an elongated neck. There is an incised and raised double cloud design around the neck of the jar. Note at the top of the incised clouds are small, incised stars! The jar was traditionally fired and is covered at the end with pinon pitch. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jim Tso.” It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. A great piece of Navajo pottery history!
