Vigil, Robert – 8.5″ Tall Black Micaceous Jar with Sharp Shoulder (Nambe)

8"w x 8.5"h

$ 800.00

Robert Vigil learned to make pottery from Lonnie Vigil and Virginia Gutierrez.  Each piece is coil made with micaceous clay and micaceous clay slipped.  This piece was traditionally fired to create the black coloration.  The jar has a sharp shoulder, an elongated neck, and a turned-out rim.  It is a creative form and the coloration from the firing gives it a very modern appearance. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Robert Vigil, Nambe”.
