Tim Vigil is a son of noted potter Minnie Vigil. In the 1980s he created his polychrome pottery, as did his sisters Bernattte and Annette. This is the largest piece of his work that I’ve seen. It is painted above the shoulder with cloud, rain, and bird wing designs. Below the shoulder are rain clouds. The piece has SEVEN different colors of clay, making it a true polychrome. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. It is signed on the bottom, “Sunbird”. Tim’s aunts are potters Gloria Garcia (Goldenrod), Lois Guiterrez, and Thelma Talachy. His grandmother was Petra Gutierrez and his great-grandmother was Pasqualita Gutierrez.
