Alvina Yepa (b. 1954) learned to make pottery from her mother, Felipita Nonche Yepa.  She began making pottery in the 1980’s and, in 1987, won First Place and Best of Division for her pottery at Santa Fe Indian Market.  This jar has a round shoulder and sloping neck. The neck is fully polished and there are 51 incised feathers.  Around the sides are painted interlocking stars.  The base is fully polished.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Alvina Yepa”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
