Yepa, Marcella – Micaceous Jar with 24 Red Melon Swirls and Lid

Marcella Yepa (b. 1964) is known for her carved and polished pottery.  She is a cousin of Emma Yepa and learned to make pottery from her aunt, Alvina Yepa. This is a classic jar with a round body and an elongated neck.  There are 24 melon ribs that swirl from the neck to the base.  They are each polished red.  The jar has a red polished lid to match the polished ribs.  It is signed on the bottom, “Marcella Yepa”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
