This is a triple canteen by Robert Patricio. Robert says this is a very difficult shape to make in terms of the drying process. Because it is hollow between each of the three spheres, the drying process can be uneven and cause cracking. However, the end result is impressive! The canteen has three lobes, handles and it is painted on the front. There are swirling flower designs on the piece. Robert is one of the leading traditional Acoma potters working today, evidenced by his stunning forms and complementary designs. The jar is signed on the bottom, “R. M. Patricio”.
