Patricio, Tobie Mae – “Lightning over the Mountains” Bowl
7"w x 4.75"hh
$ 650.00
Tobie Mae (b. 2005) is a 20-year-old daughter of noted potter Robert Patricio. This bowl is coil-built from native clay and thin-walled. It has a classic Acoma bowl shape and it is painted with bee-weed. The design is the classic “lightning” pattern, which is a revival from ancient Chaco Canyon pottery. The bowl has negative space “mountains” near the base. Above are black-and-white painted lightning designs. It is a creative use of a traditional design. The bowl is signed, “T.M. Patricio”. It is exciting to see such excellent work by young Acoma potters!
