Tyra Naha is a daughter of Rainy Naha. She learned to make pottery from her mother and continues to make traditional-style Hopi-Tewa pottery in the style of her grandmother, Helen “Feather Woman” Naha. This bowl is fully polished and painted with a bat wing design. There are four bat wings. Note the use of the thin lines! The bowl was traditionally fired. It is signed with a feather and spider (Spider Clan ).

Tyra Naha (or Tyra Naha-Black, or Tyra Naha Tawawina) represents the third generation in a family of well-known Hopi Pueblo potters. She is the great granddaughter of Paqua Naha, a granddaughter of Helen "Featherwoman" Naha and a daughter of Rainy Naha. She is a niece of Syliva Naha and Burell Naha. Each piece is coil built, stone polished and painted with native clay slips. Her pottery is signed with a feather and a 3, representing being third generation of from Helen Naha. The spider represents her being Spider Clan.
