Nora Naranjo-Morse is known for creative clay figures and sculptural work. This is one of her larger figures that is published on page 90 of her book, “Mud Woman:  Poems from the Clay”.  The poem attached to the piece is in the final photo.  The figure is large with flowing layers of clay creating her shawl.  The poem is about her and her six sisters.  Looking on the piece and power of her poetry, makes it a remarkable work in clay.  It is signed, “Nora” on the back. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  Today, Nora makes fewer clay pieces.  She has been the recent recipient of the 2025 SHIFT award along with works in the 2025 Santa Fe Biennial and numerous museum exhibitions.  Having one of the pieces published in her book here in the gallery is always exciting!
