This is a classic jar by Frederica Antonio. Each piece is coil-built and then finely painted. Her designs are a series of fine vertical and horizontal lines, which are then filled in to create larger images in the squares. This jar has a high shoulder and a short neck. The rim of the jar has a rain pattern. The body of the jar has a series of interlcoking clouds that are VERY tightly painted. The base of the jar is concave, reminiscent of historic Acoma jars which were carried on the head. This combination of thin walls, classic shape, and tightly painted design creates a piece that is visually stunning! The jar is signed on the bottom, “F. V. Antonio”.

Her designs are a series of fine vertical and horizontal lines, which are then filled in to create larger images in the squares. This jar has a high shoulder and turned out rim. The neck has a rain design. The body of the jar has spirilaing clouds. The top area has red clouds in the small squares and near the base they are painted black (with bee-weed). It is a creative and interesting design that accentuates the shape of the jar. The base of the jar is concave, reminiscent of historic Acoma jars which were carried on the head. This combination of thin walls, classic shape, and tightly painted design creates a piece that is visually stunning! The jar is signed on the bottom, “F. V. Antonio”.
