$ 2,000.00

This is a highly polished jar by Jennifer Tafoya. The jart has a round body and an elongated neck.  One side has Cedar Waxwing with berries and feather designs.  The opposite side has two realistic Baltimore Orioles surrounded by cherry blossoms. The jar is carved at various depths and has a striking contrast of both traditional and realistic imagery. Note the detail in the feathers on the birds!  Jennifer uses various clays to create the colorations on the surface of the piece.  All the various colors are derived from natural clay slips.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jennifer Moquino”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  Jennifer continues to be one of the leading innovative potters working today!  She most recently won the “Tony Da Award” for innovative pottery at Santa Fe Indian Market in 2019, “Best of Show” in 2023, and “Best of Pottery” in 2025!
