Chitto, Randall – “Choctaw Dancer with Horse Stick” Clay Turtle

5"w x 8.75"h

$ 1,100.00

Randall (Randy) Chitto (Choctaw) studied pottery beginning in 1980 at The Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe under the instruction of Otellie Loloma.  He created his distinctive style of storyteller and figurative pottery.  This is one of his classic turtle figures.  It is dressed as a Choctaw Dancer with a headdress.  The dancer is holding a lance in one hand and a horse stick in the other.  Both are carved out of wood.  The horse stick is painted.  It is a complicated piece.  Randy makes all the additional elements. It is signed on the bottom.  We are pleased to now represent Randy Chitto’s figurative pottery in both Scottsdale and Santa Fe!
