Emily Tafoya was the wife of noted potter Ray Tafoya and is the mother of Jennifer Tafoya. Each piece is coil-built, stone-polished, traditionally outdoor-fired, and then etched with designs. This seed jar is tall in shape. The piece is fully polished and fired black. There is a Flute Player with a rabbit and the opposite side has another Flute Player with two snakes. They are surrounded by cloud, rain, and water designs. The entire piece is fully designed and then highlighted with additional clay slips for more coloration. It is signed on the bottom, Emily Tafoya.
