Leland Vallo was a son of noted potter, Marie Vallo, and the brother of Kim Vallo. He learned to make pottery from his mother and began making pottery in 1991. Thislarger seedpot is coil-built and intricately painted. There is a stylized Deer Dancer painted on the top of the piece. It is surrounded by rain and feather designs. Below the shoulder are traditional Acoma water, rain, and cloud designs. The seedpot is signed on the bottom, “L. Vallo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
