Will Riding In (Santa Ana Pueblo/Pawnee) learned to make pottery from his aunt Laura Pena from Santa Ana Pueblo. His maternal grandmother Lolita Pena Cristobal was a potter, and her aunt was noted potter Eudora Montoya. Riding In was also mentored by Clarence Cruz from Ohkay Owingeh where he learned how to work with various types of materials including micaceous clay. His work combines elements from all his teachings. Will is also a curator at the Wheelwright Museum in Santa Fe, NM.
