Riding In, Will – Micaceous Jar with Polished Stripe
5"w x 4"h
$ 200.00
Will Riding In (Santa Ana/Pawnee) is a relative of noted Santa Ana potter Eudora Montoya through his mother. Will is one of the few Santa Ana potters working today. He also studied under Clarence Cruz (Ohkay Owingeh) to make micaceous pottery. This jar is made from micaceous clay and has a low shoulder and short necks. There is a red polished stripe from the neck to the shoulder. The jar has a contemporary appearance compared to his more classic Santa Ana pottery. It is signed on the bottom, ‘Will Riding In”.
