Ursula Curran is a daughter of noted potter Dolores Curran and Alvin Curran. She is named after her grandmother, noted potter Ursulita Naranjo. Ursula is known for her intricately painted miniature pottery. This plate is fully polished on the front. It is painted with flower designs across the surface. Not only does it take multiple layers of clay to paint the designs, but all the design work must be done before firing. The plate was fired a glassy black coloration. The plate is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Ursula Curran”.
