5"w x 5.25"h

$ 1,200.00

Sylvia Naha created pieces with a polished white clay surface painted with beeweed (black) and native clay slips.  Throughout the 1980s, Sylvia was considered among the most innovative of the Hopi-Tewa potters.  Her pieces were classic in form and amazingly intricate in design.  This bowl is fully painted.  It has four turtles, each with rain design across their backs.  The top and bottom have a classic Awatovi Star design with hatchwork lines.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  The jar is signed on the bottom with a feather and an “S”.
