Nampeyo, James Garcia – Mini Bowl with Bat Wing Design (1990)
$ 175.00
James Garcia Nampeyo was a son of Leah Garcia Nampeyo, a grandson of Fannie Nampeyo, and a great-grandson of Nampeyo of Hano. This small bowl has a narrow base and round sides. It is painted with bee-weed and clay slips. The design is a classic bat wing pattern that extends down from the rim. There are a lot of lines connecting the various designs that add to the overall dynamic appearance of the bowl. It was traditionally fired to give it the coloration with some subtle blushes. It is signed on the bottom, “James Nampeyo”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
