This is a classic water jar by Robert Patricio. Robert is known for his classic forms and use of both traditional and prehistoric imagery. This piece is coil-built from native clay and thin-walled. It has a high shoulder and a short neck. The jar has large stars painted red. They are surrounded by fine-line rain designs. The neck of the jar has an interlocking lightning pattern. Robert is one of the leading traditional Acoma potters working today, evidenced by his stunning forms and complementary designs. The jar is signed on the bottom, “R. M. Patricio”.

It has a high shoulder and a short neck. The sides of the jar have a double rainbow painted with two different colors of red clay. Between each rainbow row are rain designs. Below the rainbow is a flower design with leaves, representing “the first flower of spring”. Separating the rainbows are bands of rainclouds. Robert is one of the leading traditional Acoma potters working today, evidenced by his stunning forms and complementary designs. The jar is signed on the bottom, “R. M. Patricio”.
