Roy-Keene, Adrianne – Corrugated Box with Fineline Stars and Heartline Deer Lid (2001)

6"w x 5"h (w/ lid)

$ 1,800.00

Adrianne Roy-Keene is known for her intricately painted and carved miniatures. This is one of her larger pieces.  It is a box that was made for a “Box Show” we had at our Scottsdale gallery in 2001.  The box is round and painted with larger, fine-line stars.  The lid for the box has her famous corrugation, which is a series of tiny triangles that get larger as they approach the edge. There are SIXTEEN rows of corrugation and it this style for which she is most famous.  The edge of the lid has fineline designs.  The top of the box also has a heartline deer that is painted on both sides.  When the box is open, there is a “spirit line” painted on the rim, and the head of the deer faces that way so the lid will fit perfectly.  This is certainly one of her most impressive piece.  It is amazing how detailed it is for the size!  The piece is signed on the bottom with her name inside a feather hallmark.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
