This is a larger and highly detailed bowl by Jennifer Tafoya. The bowl has a round body and it is fully polished and fully etched with design.  Around the rim are four avanyu along with cloud designs.  Around the body of the bowl are three large bears that are standing by the river with salmon below them. Note the detail on the fur of the bears!  In the sky is a diving eagle and six flying geese.  The are all etched with detail on the feathers.  The background has trees, mountains, and clouds. This amazing bowl has so much design and it is a larger size of her work.  Jennifer uses various clays to create the colorations on the surface of the piece.  All the various colors are derived from natural clay slips.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jennifer Tafoya Moquino”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  Jennifer continues to be one of the leading innovative potters working today!  She most recently won the “Tony Da Award” for innovative pottery at Santa Fe Indian Market in 2019, “Best of Show” in 2023, and “Best of Pottery” in 2025!
