Youngblood, Christopher – Carved Bowl with Two Hummingbirds
$ 1,200.00
Christopher Youngblood is one of the exciting younger potters working today. This small bowl has a carved hummingbird on each side. They are each deeply carved into the clay and fully polished. The wings of each bird are made up of melon ribs. One wing of each bird has polished ribs. The other has micaceous slipped ribs. The bowl was traditionally fired. Chris says that he focuses on each piece, taking the time to work on the shape and stone polish the surface to a high shine, often polishing a piece several times to get it right. He has won numerous awards for his pottery, including the 2104 “Best of Pottery” at Santa Fe Indian Market. The jar is signed, “Chris Youngblood”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
