Joe Chavarria is a son of noted potter Vickie Martine, a grandson of Barbara Martinez.  He is a nephew of Sammy Naranjo, Chris Martinez, and Manuel Martinez.  He is a great-grandson of Flora Naranjo.  This bowl is deeply carved with a water serpent as the design.  It is highly polished and fired a red.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Joe Chavarria”.  it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
