Tina Garcia was well known for her focus on traditional shape and plainware Santa Clara pottery. This is an elegant shape with a wide shoulder and a short neck.  The jar is fully polished to a glassy appearance. The piece is fired a deep black.  It was certainly typical of Tina to focus on such elegant shapes and create pieces that are so thin-walled.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Tina Garcia”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
